BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIBS

Tender USDA Choice beef short ribs seasoned and slow cooked for 12 hours with a savory sesame BBQ sauce.

  • SERVES 4

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 1 Package Braised Beef Short Ribs with Sesame BBQ Sauce

    • 8 Each 6” Flour Tortillas, Heated

    • 1 Cup Asian Slaw, Prepared

    • ½ Cup Spicy Mayonnaise, Prepared

    • Garnish: Scallion, Sliced

    Chef’s Tip: Reserve any excess fat from the Braised Beef Short Ribs to cook with for these tacos or other dishes. The Asian slaw can be purchased or made with vegetables such as red cabbage, shredded carrots, daikon radish, and red bell pepper. Dress 1 cup of Asian slaw with 3 oz. of the included Sesame BBQ Sauce.

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Remove Braised Beef Short Ribs from pouch and place onto a cutting board. Save the remaining beef broth, remove bones and any excess fat, and cut the short ribs into bite-size pieces.

    2. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat.

    3. Add the Braised Beef Short Ribs to the pan and heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    4. Add the reserved beef broth and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the liquid has almost evaporated.

    5. Glaze the beef with the desired amount of Sesame BBQ Sauce. Heat for an additional minute, then remove from heat.

    6. Top each flour tortilla with Braised Beef Short Ribs with Sesame BBQ Sauce and Asian slaw.

    7. Drizzle each taco with spicy mayonnaise and garnish with sliced scallion.

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 1 Package Braised Beef Short Ribs with Sesame BBQ Sauce, Prepared According to Package Directions

    • 2 Cups Jasmine Rice, Cooked According to Package Directions

    • ⅓ Cup Cilantro, Chopped

    • ½ tsp. Garlic Powder

    • ¼ tsp. Ground Coriander

    • Salt, To Taste

    Chef’s Tip: Lightly toasting spices such as coriander, garlic, ginger, and onion can add depth to jasmine rice and other side dishes.

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Gently fold ¼ cup of cilantro, garlic powder, ground coriander, and salt into the cooked rice until evenly distributed.

    2. Plate rice as desired with half of a Braised Beef Short Rib with Sesame BBQ Sauce per serving.

    3. Garnish with the remaining cilantro and serve.

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 1 Package Braised Beef Short Ribs with Sesame BBQ Sauce, Prepared According to Package Directions

    • 4 Cups Ramen, Prepared

    • ½ Cup Carrots, Shredded

    • 1 Cup Kimchi

    • ½ Cup Scallions, Sliced

    • 4 Each Soft-Boiled Eggs, Prepared

    • Garnish: Sesame Seeds, Toasted

    Chef’s Tip: Carrots and other vegetables can be added to the ramen broth as it is being prepared or after.

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Divide the ramen into bowls with equal portions, then top each with half of a Braised Beef Short Rib with Sesame BBQ Sauce.

    2. Add carrots, kimchi, scallions, and a soft-boiled egg to each bowl.

    3. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve.
